It is a really lucky thing to be able to rewrite and remount a show from eight years ago. Last night the cast performed the Phoenix-specific version of Open House, in a home on a beautiful block near the Phoenix Art Museum.
Afterward an urban planner came up to me and said the part about imagining the city after a series of calamities (capital, political, environmental) was something he’s actually being hired to do in actual cities. They want to know how to provide essential services for a newly reorganized city.
